It's me! The one who decided to throw my thoughts on this year's #FebHyurary into a blender and laid it out for y'all! I apologize for potentially sounding sappy and sentimental. I just want to say how much the month meant to me, not as the host but as someone who just likes sharing what I create.

For a slight context in background, this is my sixth year participating in FebHyurary and my fourth year in hosting FebHyurary after the original host stepped down. The original host's twitter account is long gone, but their tumblr remains. (Link to the tumblr: https://febhyurary.tumblr.com/ )
I think what caught me by surprise this year is how I'm not finding myself dragging through the mud, so to speak, when doing each day. With the amount of years FebHyurary has been going, I figured repeats/overlap in themes and ideas are inevitable when coming up with prompts, therefore I do include some of the same ones in rotation (usually every other year, if I can help it). After all, not everyone does FebHyurary every year, and there's always new folks trying it out the first time. So what happens when this is your sixth year and you've already done some of the prompts on the list because it was used from a previous year?

Everyone approaches this particular challenge differently, of course. Apparently, my solution is to either see what else I can do with the prompt in question, or… revisit the same or similar idea from before and do a "remastered" version of that gpose.

I ended up learning that the latter brings a new level of fun for me this year. It's a good excuse to see how much has changed in how I work to get my screenshots. Sure, the lore for my OC remains constant and there may just be nothing new to introduce, but there's always more about their story that I can still express through this visual medium.
I keep doing FebHyurary for this admittedly selfish reason: I just wanted an excuse to share more and more about my WoL. When I first started, all the way back in 2021, I was still new to Gposing and new to the whole "share about your WoL/OC and talk about their lore" business. I didn't let the "limitations" of vanilla posing stop me from doing it, at the time. In fact, it was pretty damn fun finding creative solutions to what I wanted for my shots.

And it's also fun seeing how others approach and do their gposes with the exact same prompt! I want others to have fun with the challenge! It's cool talking shop with all the bits and pieces, from the lore they brought up with each post to the techniques they've used to achieve their results.

All of this is why I like doing FebHyurary and will continue to do so. This little corner of XIV creatives doing what they can to just… create and share. It's neat, and I thank you all for contributing to the fun it brings.

Thank you for hosting it every Febhyurary! ❤️ It’s been a joy and honestly a highlight for me!! I’m sure every Hyur player agrees! And don’t feel bad about your motivations to hold Febhyurary - at the end of the day we all put our blorbos in situations, so we are all on the same boat, haha!
