My mum & her siblings were molested by a priest in the 50s. My grandmother, a widow with 6 kids & an 8 yr age gap oldest to youngest, was threatened with excommunication if she continued to speak up. The church was one of very few resources for help. Predators like women & children submissive.

It's not "forgive and forget", it's "protect and enable". It's old men more interested in protecting their jobs and power over the congregation, than in helping the victims of abuse. Is the state DoJ investigating these claims of abuse, the claims that a pedophile ring exists inside the church?
